June Update

Howdy, Porch Beer Drinkers! Beckley Pride was a lot of fun. I met a lot of folks in the community, including a ton of young folks interested in learning how to make zines. Although I can't quite spill the beans just yet, I'm planning on a means to facilitate that. At any rate, Beckley is pretty rad, including Red Audio (who sounded like all my favorite late 90s bands in the best way) and Pancho and Lefty's (the Pancho was particularly tasty). Lenny and I even ended up on the local news talking about zines and Pride, and my grandma said I sounded "very professional."

Next event on the calendar is Final Boss Con in Rio Grande, OH on July 16. I really dig working at these pop culture cons and am looking forward to this. If you're in the Huntington/Athens area, consider stopping by!

Last thing on the docket today: I started a Patreon, since I've had a few people ask (1) explicitly if I had one or (2) if there was a way to subscribe to Porch Beers. There's a couple of reasons I decided to launch it. Chiefly (honestly) among them, some of my most popular posts on my Insta are my works in progress, and I want to post more of that without clogging up my Selfie and Food Validation Machine. It's also going to challenge me to create on a schedule, which is something I have a B- track record for right now. And I'd be lying if I didn't say it'd be nice for this stuff to start paying for itself. Getting more resources for zine supplies will equal more quantity, cooler, more experimental, and more quality overall zines.

So what's in it for you? Any level gets access to work in progress updates, exclusive online content, and 24 advanced access to any full length releases. Upper tiers get mailable things like an exclusive newsletters, a mini-zine a month, every new Porch Beers Press release, and other goodies. Check it out here.

A parting thought for today. Why is Lenny Kravitz not UNIVERSALLY thought of as a babe of the 90s? Y'all were sleeping on him!

Take care,

Elliott
