Hey gang! I'm excited to see some of y'all at HerdCon this weekend on Marshall's campus. I'll be slinging zines on the second floor of the Student Center in the Don Morris room. Doors open at 10 AM on Saturday, March 5, so come say hi! I'll have copies of issues 2 and 3, buttons, and if all goes well, a brand new zine.
So elephant in the room dispatched, it's not Porch Beers issue 4. This is going to be a bit of a departure. Often at parties and introductions when I talk about being pagan, folks are curious and ask about my beliefs. And usually I'm either taken off guard or five sheets to the wind and can't think of anything intelligent to say. So, friends, this is for all of you who have asked over the years what I believe in: Many Gods, No Masters. It's not an encyclopedia, but it's a start.
Part one deals with belief: gods, holidays, practices, and philosophy. Part two is about loss. Informed by both Covid in general and by friends passing away, grief has been on my mind recently. Most of the time I write with an audience in mind, but this was really cathartic for my mental health.
Once the con is over, I'll throw the remaining copies up in the Etsy store and let y'all know. Until then, Excelsior!
