Greetings, Porch Beer Drinkers, during the spookiest of seasons: Scorpio. My Etsy shop is on hiatus while I scramble to do some last minute moving tasks. If you read issue 2, it's probably no big surprise that I'm moving back to West Virginia. A lot of things aligned at the right time that it just made sense. Someday I might write about what went into the decision.
As far as Porch Beers goes, issue 3 is laid out and ready to print. It's about music, and specifically how music related to memories. I've picked a dozen or so of my favorite songs to talk about, from Buck Owens to Kendrick Lamar and all points in between. My plan is to release it to coincide with the Phoenix Zine Fest November 13 & 14. That means if you want first crack at it, you'll need to check out my section of PHXZF online, as reprints likely won't happen until after the holidays.
Garden season has waned, especially since I'm moving to a different zone where there's actually a winter. I'm hoping this winter to transition my passion for creating green life into creating music. It's been a long time since I've played my Korg and an even longer time since I've played it for an audience. I also have an autoharp that needs some work, and restringing and restoring it may be my winter project. I threatened this last winter, but it might actually come to fruition in 2022. So if you're reading this, are in the Huntington WV tri-state area, and want to form a Leftist bluegrass band, hit ya boy up.
